In 2016, Ecumenical Catholic Church in India (ECCI) entered into full communion with The Ecumenical Catholic Church of Christ (ECCC), Detroit, USA, accepting its Manifesto as a guiding expression of its ecumenical vision and mission.
The worldwide communities of The Ecumenical Catholic Church of Christ brought together Catholics and Christians from different Rites and traditions who sought to live the principle of: “Unity in Essentials, Diversity in Non-Essentials, and Charity in All Things.”
In 2017, † Mar Illios Yohanan Kuriakose was appointed Apostolic Nuncio for Asia by the Holy See of The Ecumenical Catholic Church of Christ, Detroit, USA.
Through this ministry, Ecumenical Catholic Church in India (ECCI) sought to strengthen its commitment to Christian fellowship, dialogue, reconciliation, and unity throughout Asia.
